Mr Noakes loves fiction and non-fiction. What does he like to learn about in non-fiction books? He also likes some scary books, that he thinks might be older than him! Mr Noakes would highly recommend any of Roald Dahl's books. What books of Roald Dahl have you read? Tell Mr Noakes your favourite ones.
What books do Mrs Greenhalgh and her two girls love to read together? Can you find them in the library to read, too? What picture books are her favourites?
Ms Aalbers loves to read kiwi authors. What 2 does she recommend in this video? She also loves Roald Dahl books, and books that have cool rhymes like Mister Whistler, by Margaret Mahy.
Mrs Hall loves books written by the British author David Walliams as he creates amazing characters. She also enjoys Harry Potter. Can you find these books in the library to read? What do you think of them?
What adventure books does Mr McLay love to read? His friend is an author, Greg O'Brian, who has written all about our school journals. He also loves nursery rhymes and old language. Tell Mr McLay some of the nursery rhymes you know. You might even be able to sing them in his music class!
Miss Grant is in charge of the library with Miss Eyre, and she loves Kiwi authors. What Kiwi authors do you already know? Her favourite characters are Hairy Maclary and Grandma McGarvey. Where can you find those books in the library? She also loves Margaret Mahy's "Bubble Trouble", and "Tuatara and the Skink" which is part of a series of books called Kiwi Corkers, which take a traditional tale and put a NZ twist on it. Find some other Kiwi Corker books in our school library and tell Miss Grant what you think of them.
Mrs Sullivan loves to read picture books. Here are some of her favourite authors. She loved to read Enid Blyton books when she was a child. The books she enjoyed reading to her own sons included Dr Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham, and Lynley Dodd's The Other Ark. Have you read any of these books? Tell Mrs Sullivan what you think about them.
Miss McCurran loves to read both fiction and non-fiction. What sea creature does she love to learn about? Find some of your own facts about her favourite animal and tell them to her. She also really loves Harry Potter books. How many times has she read the whole series?
Mr Maindonald shares about some of his favourite books that are classics. Have you heard of the author Mark Twain? Find him in the library and share your thoughts about his book Tom Sawyer with Mr Maindonald.
